Book a Cyprus holiday and enjoy wine, golf and cycling

Cyprus holidays are often the top choice for those seeking sun, sea and sand, but the island has much more to offer inland.

In an article for the Travel Trade Gazette, journalist Kathryn Liston said wine, golf and cycling are three things tourists can enjoy in Cyprus.

She pointed out that the island has a 4,000-year-old love affair with wine, so produces some top quality tipples.

Holiday makers can spend time visiting vineyards and local wineries, sampling the produce as the travel from place to place.

Afterwards they can head back to their resort and pick out their favourites from the wine list at a Cypriot restaurant.

For those who love sport as well as good wine, Cyprus is home to several championship golf courses, many of which are located close to Paphos.

Meanwhile, cycling routes offer holiday makers the chance to get out and about, taking in the island's spectacular scenery while keeping fit at the same time.

Ms Liston said the circular 57-mile network around the Troodos Mountains, which was opened at the end of last year, it a must.

Those renting Cyprus villas in the Aphrodite Hills Leisure Resort, which has its own 18-hole golf course, will be in a perfect location to enjoy both the beaches and the inland areas.

They will also be just 20 minutes from the ancient capital Paphos with its historical sights.
