Beat January blues with kiting holiday in Cyprus
Flying a kite in Cyprus may not be the obvious choice for a winter holiday, but it could have therapeutic qualities that help even the worst sufferer of the January blues lighten up this season.
Cheapflights.co.uk, compiling a list of its top ten weird and wonderful breaks at this time of year, identifies kite flying on the Mediterranean island as one of the best.
It says the run-up to Easter is a period that coincides with the Kite Festival in Cyprus, which kicks off on the first day of Lent.
People traditionally visit some of the country's most beautiful beaches, enjoy picnics together and fly kites.
With flights available from £79 return, the website suggests a holiday in Cyprus could be just what the doctor would order while the UK remains cold and wet.
Leisure airline Monarch this week revealed it is putting on extra flights to Cyprus during April in order to cope with demand.
