Are Brits using their smartphones to book up Cyprus villas?

A raft of holiday makers are now turning to their mobile phones in order to decide on their next getaway, which could lead them to booking up villas in Cyprus.

Findings from 'The always-connected traveller: How mobile will transform the future of air travel' report has found a shift in how people approach trips abroad.

Compiled by Norm Rose of Travel Tech Consulting Inc and published by Amadeus, the research highlighted that 16 per cent of holiday makers are picking up their smartphones to snap up getaways now.

Looking closer to the figures reveals that a third of frequent travellers use such technology when booking flights, while 18 per cent of 18-35 year olds opt for mobile phones to aid them with their purchasing procedures.

Julia Sattel, the vice president of airline IT at Amadeus, noted: "Mobile continues to shake-up how companies interact with and meet the needs of customers."

Once in Cyprus villas, whether the journey was aided by the use of smartphones or not, Brits have been urged by the North Cyprus Tourism Centre to head to Alagadi Beach, where they can spot the magnificent sight of loggerhead turtles nesting.
