Amathunta marathon: Cyprus

Taking place on Sunday November 18th, the race will be held at Agios Tychonas near Limassol and is expected to comprise of mostly overseas runners.

The course is mainly flat and begins and ends at the historic ancient city Kingdom on Amathus.

A fun run of ten kilometres for those who cannot manage the full event is also available making the event a great excuse for a winter holiday to the warmer temperatures of Cyprus.

Runners will also receive free fruit, Leon beer and ENA juices from the sponsors, according to whatsonwhen.com.

Those looking to support their friends and family can catch the band and traditional dancing at the nearby castle as the celebrations continue into the evening.

A beach and green hills add to the beauty of the surrounding area and runners will be able to experience some of the surroundings as they make their way through the course.
