Villa in Crete 'is a good choice for everybody'
There is no type of person, from old to young, single to married and cautious to adventurous, that will not enjoy a stay at a villa in Crete.
Yannis Samatas, writer for explorecrete.com, says the island truly offers something for everybody.
People seeking a beach holiday will not be disappointed, as Crete boasts some of the most beautiful around, with miles of unspoilt sand stretching around its coast.
But there are also many more strings to the island's bow, with quaint towns and Ventian and Turkish buildings put forward by the expert as highlights.
Mr Samatas goes on to note the remote villages of Lentas and Mirtos on the south coast, as well as Anogia high on the mountains, create the opportunity to enjoy an authentic taste of the island.
Another benefit of staying in Crete is the cuisine on offer, which Quest Greek Islands recently named as the healthiest in the world.
