Villa holidays in Crete 'cater to every tourist'

Holiday makers have been told of the appeal of the islands of Greece for a getaway, including those tempted on booking villas in Crete.

George Nikitiades, deputy minister of culture and tourism, described each of the island locations of this European country as being "beautiful".

He highlighted Crete amongst these, due to it being the largest of the isles in Greece and "offering anything that people may be interested in".

Mr Nikitiades added that a good point of the country's islands are that they offer something for every tourist, be it Pathos for those looking for a religious getaway or Crete for those hoping to "walk three miles just to go to the water".

"That's one of the beauties of Greece. You go to the islands and each one has its own identity, its own different things to show," he concluded.

Meanwhile, a Travelbite.co.uk expert has also rung the praises of Crete to holiday makers recently, thanks to its "miles of beautiful golden coastline" and the wealth of shops and restaurants on offer.
