Summer festival to entertain Crete holiday makers
In news that may be of interest to those planning a stay in a Crete villa, What's On When reveals that organisers of the Chania Summer Festival claim that 2008 is going to beat the event's record for providing an unbeatable cultural timetable.
Traditional Cretan dancing and music form tend to form a central part of proceedings, ensuring the festival's backbone is characterised by the island's heritage.
However, the website performances of ballet classics and Shakespeare plays represent the diversity that characterises Crete holidays.
Chess evenings, concerts and exhibitions are also integrated into the varied programme, which runs between July and September.
"The organisers claim that this year's event tops them all, with collaborations from the Odessa State Opera and Ballet Theatre," asserts the events guide.
