Stay in Crete holiday villas and visit top attractions

Those staying in Crete holiday villas have been told about different attractions they can enjoy on the island by an expert on the location.

Marc Dubin, co-author of The Rough Guide to Greek Islands, wrote for the Daily Telegraph that the best place to look at Minoan architecture is Knossos, just outside of Iraklio, with nearby Agia Triada and Phaestos also being good sites to visit.

Mr Dubin also recommended that those staying in Crete holiday villas with children take a trip to Limnoupolis, a water park near Hania and WaterCity, which is close to Iraklio.

When it comes to beaches, Mr Dubin recommended that holidaymakers try Myrtos.

“Even when the rest of eastern Crete is wind-buffeted, the kilometre-long, fine-pebble beach here at the base of Mt Díkti’s foothills stays protected,” he said.

Meanwhile, those who want an historical experience when they visit the island may want to stop by the Cretan Folklore and History Museum, where they can find out about the agricultural traditions of the area.
