St Yakinthos festival

Taking place in the new holiday season in July, the event recognises many different cultural traditions including food and entertainment.

The new forest theatre in St Yakinthos holds a large cultural programme that is usually themed around a certain area.

Past themes have included 'natural offerings' where a number of products were available to sample, such as Greek coffee.

The event will give holiday makers travelling to Crete a chance to enjoy some of the island's tradition and culture while providing a day-out from their villa.

But Crete is not all about history and culture as holiday makers can relax on the many sandy beaches surrounding the island or take a more active approach.

Cycling and walking holidays will take visitors all over the island and give them a chance to see some of the landscape as well as enjoying the warm temperatures.
