See the tools of Cretan traditional trades

Five rooms are arranged to display periods and events from the island's history, beginning with a traditional Cretan farmer's home, complete with loom and baby's cradle.

Another displays tools belonging to tradesmen including wine-makers, shoe-makers and greengrocers and the third is a 20th century olive oil factory.

Cretan professionals such as the cheese-maker, shopkeeper, coffee grinder and soap-maker are represented in the fourth room, while the final highlight of the museum recreates the 1941 Battle of Crete.

The traditional Greek way of life can still be found on Crete in the countryside villages in the town of Rethymno, which are full of culture and charm for visitors to enjoy.
