Ryanair expands schedule to Crete
Holiday makers looking to book holiday villas in Crete will now be able to travel to the resort from Leeds Bradford Airport.
Irish budget airline Ryanair has announced it will now operate three aircraft on 26 routes from the airport, including new routes to and from Chania, in Crete, increasing the options for those heading on a Crete holiday.
Michael O'Leary, chief executive of Ryanair, said the expansion would bolster the local economy as well as offering more choice for travellers.
The increase in the number of routes to Crete will no doubt mean more people will visit the attractions the resort has to offer.
Samaria Gorge and Gortyn both provide exciting days out for holiday makers on the island, located within the White Mountains and is acknowledged as the longest gorge in Europe at 18 kilometres long.
Recent figures show those looking for holiday villas in Crete are not alone as the island witnessed a ten per cent increase in visitors in the first nine months of 2011.
