Rethymno Carnival
Greek culture is on display in all its glory in this vibrant and cultural festival and will give holidaymakers a real taste of what the area has to offer.
Art, theatre, dance are incorporated amongst more traditional Greek customs with the festival culminating in a grand parade.
Treasure hunts and a graffiti festival begin the event and artists come from all over Greece to ply their modern talents.
Fancy dress and dance carry on throughout the event and the final day is celebrated with a huge open air party.
The Grand parade is a vibrant show of colour and music for the town and its visitors with locals and holidaymakers alike revelling in the celebratory atmosphere.
Floats and masks brighten the scenery and old customs and traditional games, including kite flying, are practiced.
