Renaissance on a Crete holiday
Shows and displays range from performances of music to dance and visual arts as well as theatre shows.
Taking place in July, the festival runs through the month to finish in August meaning holiday makers will have lots of time to enjoy the occasion.
Many works by Cretan writers are performed at the event, although there are Shakespeare plays on display as well.
Holiday makers can expect a wide range of music from both the Renaissance and more contemporary influences and exhibitions of paintings are also common place.
Taking a Crete villa holiday during the July festival will not only provide plenty of activities but also a glimpse into the culture of the island.
Alternatively, holiday makers can spend a day relaxing by the villa pool or taking long walks through the area's picturesque countryside.
