Red Arrows return to Crete
The Royal Air Force's world-renowned Red Arrows team will take to the skies to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Crete - and you could be there to see it.
Having begun on May 20th in 1941, the successful battle defended the island following an airborne invasion by the German forces and the event marking victory will take place between May 16th and 24th, according to ANA.
Chania's port will be the base for the celebrations, which will also include exhibitions, moving memorial services and speeches.
A popular resort to stay near Chania could be the small fishing port of Kolymbari.
It boasts a stunning seafront promenade that is filled with waterfront cafes, tavernas and shops. A visit to the nearby Odigitrias Gonias is also recommended for holiday makers renting a villa here.
