Many holiday makers 'charm for flight upgrades'

People taking holidays to Crete are likely to charm airport check-in staff to get a flight update and pack home-made food in their luggage.

These are just some of the findings of the 2012 Travel Survey, which has been carried out by Holidays Please.

Bringing together the results of six various studies, it has been highlighted that 41 per cent of holiday makers try to charm check-in staff of the opposite sex in an attempt to receive a free business class upgrade.

Another 13 per cent have admitted to flirting with staff members of the same sex to get better seats on a plane.

Meanwhile, a fifth of respondents to the survey state that they take their own food abroad, while five per cent of adults seek home comforts by packing a teddy bear into their suitcase.

When it comes to packing for their next family holiday, Bevis Man, from the British Skin Foundation, recently urged parents to make sure that they have enough sunscreen to protect both themselves and their kids while in warmer climes.
