Fun-filled festivals coming to Crete this August
Holiday makers looking to enjoy a summer getaway to Crete have the chance to embrace the Greek island's culture.
This is because the popular destination will be host to a duo of entertaining events this August, each of which allows tourists to top up their knowledge of Crete.
Brits should be sure to catch the sights and sounds of the Yakinthia Festival, which presents an in-depth cultural programme of attractions.
While the theme of the event differs on an annual basis, holiday makers can be guaranteed to witness a variety of high-quality drama throughout.
Music fans are also in for a treat if they should seek out holidays in Crete during August, as the island will also be host to the Chania Rock Festival.
Taking place in the picturesque town of Chania, the attraction sees a host of local bands showing off their skills on some of the grandest stages.
People can catch all of the action inside the Architektoniki venue, which forms a part of the University of Crete's campus region.
