Enjoy "delicious" food while staying in Crete villa
Holiday makers who decide to soak up some winter sun by booking a villa in Crete during the coming months may be delighted to hear of one reviewer's take on the island's cuisine.
Liz Bartlett, writing about her time in Crete for the Daily Telegraph, says the food and drink on offer is of the highest standard.
She notes the experience at one restaurant, where rabbit is a particular speciality.
"The food is delicious [and] full of flavours that need to be sponged up with the bread baked in the shop opposite," explains Ms Bartlett.
As with any high-quality island destination, Crete boasts a wide range of tasty fish dishes and lamb is another favourite among local chefs and restaurant owners.
Among the famous faces to have recently opted to take a holiday in Crete is last year's X Factor runner-up Olly Murs, with the Sun reporting the singer spent time with his friends on the beaches and in the bars of the island.
