Crete villas 'gateway to golden coastline'
There is one main reason why holiday makers should consider snapping up villas in Crete – its range of stunning beaches.
An expert at Travelbite.co.uk gave this view, pointing out that the largest of the Greek islands has a wealth to see and do once the plane has touched down into one of the destination's airports.
However, a major highlight is that "Crete boasts miles of beautiful golden coastline that is perfect for simply lying back and enjoying that sunshine while listening to the sound of the ocean as it laps gently against the shore", they noted.
When it comes to wanting mostly sun, sea and sand on a holiday, the expert has advised booking into holiday villas in the resort of Georgioupolis.
Another popular part of Crete is that of Chania, which not only boasts a lengthy coastline, but also plenty of "bustling shops and restaurants".
People who take a trip to the Greek island will also be treated to a range of "sedate traditional villages", Chris Deliso, author of the Lonely Planet guides to Greece and the Greek Islands, recently commented.
