Grab yourself a late deal >Crete villas: Brits 'want relaxing holidays'
Many Brits who are seeking an overseas trip, maybe to villas in Crete, are doing so in order to relax.
This is according to a new study conducted by global survey-based market research company Ipsos, which found that 43 per cent of tourists from the UK seek out a location where they can unwind and go sightseeing.
Ipsos carried out this survey in 24 countries worldwide, with 35 per cent of the entire number of respondents pinpointing relaxation as a priority when taking up villa holidays.
Such a statistic echoes the requirements sought out by Brits, with Alex Francis, of Travelmatch, given his insight into one area where holiday makers could visit to enjoy some rest.
He noted: "The Mediterranean is the perfect destination for a relaxing trip away: it is close by, has wonderful warm weather and a wide array of convenient, luxurious resorts."
Crete is one of the largest Mediterranean islands, with Chris Deliso, author of the Lonely Planet guides to Greece and the Greek Islands, recently acknowledging that "nowhere else in Greece combines everything the way Crete does".
