Grab yourself a late deal >Crete villas: Beach getaways proving popular with Brits
When it comes to choosing a perfect getaway, many Brits are opting for beach holidays, which could include the sun-kissed coastlines around Crete villas.
A new study carried out by ABTA has indicated that 37 per cent of people are looking for a retreat which takes in stunning beaches.
Such a holiday choice is significantly greater than the 17 per cent who prefer to take a city break, while cultural trips garnered 11 per cent of the vote.
Romantic getaways (eight per cent) and sporty trips abroad (four per cent) also made it into the list of ideal ventures.
Mark Tanzer, chief executive of ABTA, commented that the research indicates that British holiday makers have an "incredibly wide and varied" selection of overseas trips to choose from.
People who book up villas in Crete will have plenty of beaches to head along to during their stay, with the shorelines of Rethymnon, Hersonissos and Chania just to name a few.
