Crete villa guests urged to visit Vai beach
Travellers hoping to visit some idyllic seafront locations during a Crete villa holiday this year might be interested in checking out the beach at Itanos.
The Telegraph recently listed the location - which is known as Vai beach - as one of the island's top seaside hotspots.
Situated next to Europe's largest natural palm grove, the beach is well worth a visit for its "exotic Caribbean vibe", according to Telegraph travel writer Jane Foster.
Crete villa guests can visit the destination to take in some of the surrounding scenery, which was used for the Bounty chocolate bar advert featuring the slogan 'taste of paradise' in the 1970s.
Ms Foster also recommends hiring a sunbed and straw umbrella to spend some time relaxing on the sand before taking to the water with a snorkel to explore the clear Mediterranean waters.
Adventurous visitors can hire jet skis and windsurfing equipment, while those who would prefer some more relaxing activities can enjoy a meal in the Greek taverna and snack bar on the seafront.
