Crete holidays 'are non-negotiable'
Sean Tipton, spokesperson for Abta, commented that trips such as Crete holidays are highly-prized among UK travellers, who will not give up their summer break without a fight.
Summer holidays are entrenched in the UK calendar and are a tradition that does not look set to be waning, the representative said.
The weather in the UK is reportedly a key reason for this, with eager Britons flocking to sunnier climes for a taste of Mediterranean culture, perhaps on a Crete holiday.
"If you go to the Mediterranean at this time of year you can rely on consistently good weather," explained Mr Tipton.
For a quintessential Mediterranean experience, tourists may wish to try the village of Agia Triada, located east of Rethymno in Crete, just five minutes from the coast by car.
