Chania makes charming small town list

It made the top ten in a list of the most charming small towns in the world, those planning to book Crete villa holidays in the region may be glad to know.

According to Chania's tourism promotion committee, the town is steeped in history and boasts numerous cultural attractions.

Among these are numerous Byzantine churches and other monuments, the Archaeological Museum of Chania and the fortress of Firka, inside which is the Naval Museum of Chania.

Holiday makers eager to explore Chania's historical and cultural gems and find out why it has appeared in the most charming small town list could rent a villa in Stalos, which is just a short drive away from the town.

This small resort retains much of its original Greek charm and is also close to the island of Theodorou, which tourists can reach by hiring a boat.
