Brits told 'explore Alonissos when taking Greece villa holidays'

Families who have decided to take up Greece villa holidays this year have been urged to explore the island of Alonissos.

Located off the eastern mainland of Greece, the location is "a beautiful spot with enviable weather, friendly locals and wonderful beaches", according to a writer at TravelBite.co.uk.

Holiday makers will have the chance to explore everything the island has to offer if taking an extended visit, thanks to Alonissos only being 20km in length at its longest point.

The writer also acknowledged that the resort is home to a series of smaller islands, each offering "quaint communities" and in easy reaching distance if Brits choose to rent a boat.

Holiday makers planning on staying in Greece should also not miss the chance to explore the areas surrounding Crete villas.

Chris Deliso, author of the Lonely Planet guides to Greece and the Greek Islands, recently noted: "Crete boasts not only some of Greece's most important historical and archaeological spots, but also the tastiest and healthiest food."
