Book villa in Crete for winter beach fun
Tourists looking to get away from the wind, rain and coldness of an English winter over the coming months may be wise to book a villa in Crete for a week or two.
Nadine Hallak, marketing and PR executive at Cheapflights Media, says the 1,000 km of coastline the island has to offer can be beautiful at this time of year.
While the temperature typically dips, it is still warm enough to enjoy boat rides and exploring the numerous beaches and caves that line the shore.
A reduction in the number of tourists also creates a "better sense of freedom" to visit coves, bays, peninsulas and cliffs, explains the travel expert.
Some people may wish to venture further inland and discover Crete's ancient history, while others could be content to sample the resort's top-notch cuisine.
According to recent research by trivago, the cost of booking accommodation in Crete fell by 26 per cent in October compared with the previous month.
