People who value natural beauty and breathtaking sights while on holiday should book a villa in Crete, if one expert's comments are anything to go by.
Heidi Fuller-Love, travel writer for eastcretemagazine.com, says the Greek island is one of the most picturesque destinations around.
"Crete is a stunningly beautiful, unspoilt, unpolluted island with a wide diversity of landscapes," she notes.
Perhaps another great advantage of Crete is that its two sides offer different experiences, with the western half said to be more mountainous and packed with hillside forests.
While the east is also very green, a lot of its emphasis is also on "stunning half-deserted beaches" and quaint towns, Ms Fuller-Love details.
She notes these resorts are typically without tourists, so those who do visit will be treated to an authentic Greek experience.
Quest Greek Islands recently claimed Cretan food is the healthiest cuisine in the world, with much of it cooked in the island's signature product - olive oil.
