Ancona likes Crete holidays
Writing in the Independent, the performer details how she took her husband and two-year-old child to the Greek island and enjoyed a Crete villa holiday to remember.
One highlight of the family's trip to Crete was Spinalonga, an island fortress built to protect archaeological site Olous.
"Lily adored Spinalonga. While I and most other adult visitors felt obliged to study the island's history (on information displays in some of the old houses), she tore around, displaying potentially alarming megalomaniacal tendencies by declaring herself queen of her new surroundings," Ancona writes.
The holiday also awakened a taste for Cretan honey and Greek yoghurt with fruit and nuts, the comedian notes.
Iconic Chania and Knossos were also named as key parts of a Crete holidays.
Ronni Ancona first came to widespread attention as an impressionist on BBC 1's Big Impression, which also starred Alistair McGowan.
