"Hike like Hercules" on a Crete holiday

A travel writer for the Senior Times described a recent holiday to Chania as their "quest for adventure".

"We would drive along Crete's south-western shore, swim in its lovely Libyan sea and hike like Hercules," the explorers said, noting that there are over 200 caves to explore on the island.

A perfect place to base and exploration holiday could be the resort of Stalos in Chania.

Holiday makers tired from a day's walking at one of the island's many gorges can relax in one of the numerous tavernas and bars that can be founding this quaint but lively resort.

Furthermore, the nature reserve island of Theodorou can be reached by a short boat trip from the beach here so there may never be a dull day on a Crete villa holiday.
