The city and its famous harbour have been chosen as the place to host the fifth and final leg of the Audi Mediterranean Cup this year, according to Roundtownnews.co.uk
Cartagena has been chosen as the host city and the place of the nail-biting final leg of the sailing competition and sea-loving holiday makers may wish to get in on the aquatic action.
The competition's director Ignacio Triay says the city has been chosen because of its "excellent geographical location, meteorological and sea conditions".
Cartagena's facilities for both competitors and spectators were also a key factor in the decision, it has been reported.
Those staying in a villa in Hacienda del Alamo will find themselves close to the action when it takes place between September 14th and September 19th - and they can also play their way around a stunning 18-hole golf course while they are waiting for the event to begin.
