Winter day trip to Barcelona could be possible from Costa Blanca villa
Tourists who secure a villa on the Costa Blanca this winter may find themselves in the ideal position to visit the city of Barcelona.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph, travel expert Sally Davies says the coming months present an ideal opportunity to travel to the Catalonian capital.
With the large crowds of summer and the intense humidity of the warmest months now a distant memory, it is possible to tour the metropolis in comfort.
Ms Davies states: "While there are fewer tourists, the streets are no less lively, particularly in the run-up to Christmas, when the area around the cathedral comes alive with the Fira de Santa Llucia seasonal market."
And people staying in villas on the Costa Blanca may be in pole position to enjoy the delights of Barcelona should they opt to take a trip a few miles north.
Some of the city's highlights include the Nou Camp football stadium, Las Ramblas and the Sagrada Familia, built by Gaudi.
