Villafranqueza celebrates in March
For any holidaymakers missing the winter season this festival represents a perfect chance for them to get to the festival and enjoy a big event in the Spanish fiesta season.
The feast of the Moors and the Christian is in memory of the re-conquest of the Iberian Peninsula and remembers parts of the struggle against the Muslim pirates.
A procession, as is custom with most Spanish fiestas, will begin the event and those taking part are divided into two camps, the Moors and the Christians.
They dress up in the right costume that is appropriate to the middle ages and accompany the floats in the parade.
Eating and drinking continues into the evening where the festival is celebrated to the early hours of the morning.
Visitors to the region will not want to miss the event that welcomes holidaymakers in a warm and festive manner.
