UK airports record airline punctuality improvements

People in the UK who are seeking a getaway, perhaps to villas in Costa Blanca, are witnessing fewer delays when travelling to their destination.

This is a key finding of new research conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), which studied ten of the main airports across Britain.

Over the past three months, 79 per cent of scheduled flights have managed to arrive or leave the travel hub at their designated time.

This is up by seven percentage points from the statistics recorded when the same study was undertaken in the third quarter of 2010.

On-time charter flights have also increased by ten percentage points during the 12-month period, sitting at 73 per cent today.

Iain Osborne, group director for regulatory policy of the CAA, commented: "After the poor performances airlines showed on punctuality during summer 2010, we welcome the evident improvements this year."

People heading to Costa Blanca villas during the first half of 2012 have the chance to take part in the Moors and Christians Festival and Saint John's Bonfires, both of which are coming to Alicante.
