Torrevieja carnival entertains those on Costa Blanca holiday
Couples in a Costa Blanca villa enjoying some winter sunshine have been entertained by Torrevieja's carnival, which took place on Sunday (February 14th).
Over 1,000 people took part in the seaside town's annual event, with thousands more watching from the sidelines, roundtownnews.co.uk reports.
Participants were competing to win 9,000 worth of prizes, with thirty groups of men, women and children dressing up as things such as salt cellars, hula dancers and aliens.
While spring and summer may be a little way off, Torrevieja was certainly keen to make the most of the warm winter weather and put on a show to locals and holiday makers alike.
Approximately 4,000 chairs were lined out across the route, all of which were taken, and many more stood behind.
In addition to the Valentine's Day parade, a nocturnal event was held on Saturday night. Having started at 21:00, it was less formal and catered more towards adults.
Torrevieja is a popular location for British holiday makers thanks to its traditional Spanish appeal and wealth of restaurants, bars and shops.
