Spanish villa holidays proving popular

Many Brits seem to have chosen Spanish villa holidays for their Easter getaway, if new research is anything to go by.

According to a study conducted by car hire comparison site, carhiremarket.com, the European country has proved the most popular for car hire getaways.

In fact, 28 per cent of Brits have chosen the destination as their choice in April, which is considerably greater than the 15 per cent who opted for the US and seven per cent visiting Italy and Portugal.

However, those staying in holiday villas in Spain, such as in Costa Blanca, have been given some driving tips if they intend to get behind the wheel while in the country.

A highlight is the fact that it is Spanish law for a car to flash their headlights on the motorway before overtaking, so Brits should not be alarmed if this occurrence happens while driving.

Meanwhile, a trial set up by Ryanair to allow reserved seating means that those travelling from Dublin to Malaga will have the chance to fly in comfort.
