See the nativity in the sun on a Costa Blanca holiday
It may be some time before Christmas, but those enjoying Costa Blanca holidays in Spain can capture the magic of the festive season any time in Alicante.
The Nativity Scene Museum in the city's old quarter is open all year round and celebrates the most illustrious moment in the history of the Christian faith.
A permanent display of nativity scenes from Spain and other countries around the world is on show for the enjoyment of visitors.
Holiday makers will be able to spot the subtle differences in the representation of the scene by different countries and view some interesting international pieces.
From September, the museum opens at various times each day of the week and also on Saturday mornings.
Those hoping to spend some time in Alicante can rent Costa Blanca villas in La Nucia, which is a 45-minute drive away.
Alicante is also home to a number of other museums dedicated to fine arts, archaeology and even water.
Rich in history, the city boasts some impressive monuments, including Santa Barbara Castle, the San Nicolas Co-Cathedral and the Santa Maria Basilica.
