See Europe's only palm forest on a Costa Brava holiday
Just 12 miles inland, to the west of Alicante, lies Europe's only palm forest that forms a "lush oasis" around the city of Elche, according to WorldTravels.com.
The site says that the city also offers several stunning parks and gardens to help ensure that there are plenty of places to relax surrounded by stunning nature on a Costa Blanca holiday.
One of the most popular gardens in the Parque Municipa, which is "festooned with palm trees, grassy promenades and children's playgrounds", while Hort del Cura, has been described as the most beautiful.
The new holiday town of Quesada, Torrevieja, in Costa Blanca could provide the perfect settling to explore Elche, as well as Alicante.
Quesada itself is a fascinating place that has its own water park, as well as numerous shops, restaurants and bars, while golfing enthusiasts will not be disappointed with the local golf course.
