Prehistoric fossil find: Costa Blanca
Prehistoric remains from the late Miocene era that could be over eight million years old have been found by scientists on the Costa Blanca.
The remains of a prehistoric creature, similar to a mastodon were found by scientists digging at Crevillent, according to typicallyspanish.com.
The scientists uncovered the fossilised remains of the animal that is similar to a woolly mammoth and would have fed on leaves rather than grazing.
Scientists will now study the remains to find out more about the creature.
Holidaymakers will be excited by the news of archaeological finds along the Costa Blanca, and visiting the area could provide a lesson into pre-historic history.
