Modern art show could interest Costa Blanca villa guests

Holiday makers planning a day trip to Valencia during a Costa Blanca villa break this year can pay a visit to a fascinating exhibition in the city.

A display entitled From Gaudi to Picasso was unveiled at the Valencia Institute of Modern Art on March 15th and will run until June 27th.

The main theme of the exhibition is the influence that Catalan modernist art had on celebrated painters and sculptors such as Julio Gonzalez and Pablo Picasso.

People taking Costa Blanca villa holidays will be able to visit the show to see work by figures such as the modernist architect Antoni Gaudi and Catalan painter Santiago Rusinol.

Around 125 pieces feature in the display, many of which have been borrowed from prestigious galleries and foundations such as the Reina Sofia and Prado institutes in Madrid and the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.

Holiday makers staying in Costa Blanca villas can travel to Valencia by train or car and head to Calle Guillem de Castro to visit the Institute of Modern Art.
