Las Fallas in the Costa Blanca

Papier mache dolls are created, sometimes in the shape of traditional figures or even famous people.

The dolls are then paraded throughout the streets and many bonfires are lit before the dolls are thrown onto the fire and burnt in celebration.

Valencia holds one of the largest Las Fallas celebrations but many occur in towns and villages across the Costa Blanca, including the town of Denia which stages a mini-festival towards the end of March.

Holiday makers taking a villa holiday in the seaside area of Denia will find plenty to tempt them outside with a partially ruined fortress amongst the town's attractions.

Beaches and walking routes can also be found for holiday makers wishing to enjoy the Mediterranean's surroundings.
