January 10th to be popular day for booking a Costa Blanca holidays?

Brits are most likely to book their Costa Blanca villa holiday next Tuesday, with January 10th being named the busiest day of the year for travel bookers.

Hundreds of thousands of British wannabe holiday makers will be researching and booking their vacations on the date, according to Skyscanner.net.

Spain is predicted to be the most commonly searched destination on the site, with popular locations such as Turkey, Portugal and Cyprus also making the top ten, and Malaga coming in as the number one city.

Due to the heightened level of traffic anticipated on Tuesday, the comparison site has dubbed the date 'Skyber Tuesday' - a nod to 'Cyber Monday' which is the busiest day of the year for online shopping that occurs in the run up to Christmas.

Sam Baldwin, travel editor at the site, commented that 'Skyber Tuesday' is often a good indicator of where the big summer destinations of the year will be.

"Many airlines such as BA, Qantas, BMI and Virgin Atlantic offer discounts in January, and savvy travellers take advantage of this by booking their flights now for travel later in the year," he explained.
