Holidays to Spain 'offer choice and good value'

One of the benefits of Costa Blanca villa breaks and other holidays to Spain is the fact that the country offers such a wide range of choice, according to a travel expert.

Nick Trend, editorial director at travel information portal Simonseeks, identified Spain as one of the top options for Brits planning to head abroad this year, pointing out that it provides "lots of choice and good value offerings".

He also offered some advice to families who will be taking their Costa Blanca holidays during a school break this year.

"If you are tied to going away in the school holidays, May half-term will be cheaper than the summer peak in July and August - and the weather in the Med can be lovely then," Mr Trend said.

"Otherwise, take a break towards the end of August - airfares are generally a bit cheaper than in early August, and many European, family-oriented holidays cost significantly less too."

Simonseeks recently conducted a survey which found that 70 per cent of regular travellers are hoping to find discounts of at least 25 per cent on their holiday purchase this year.
