Girona 'an option for those on Costa Blanca holidays'
People on holiday on the Costa Blanca should consider Girona as a day trip destination if one writer's words are anything to go by.
Anthony Peregrine, author of a piece for the Daily Telegraph, explains the city – located just north of Barcelona – is one of the most atmospheric Jewish quarters in Spain.
It was even the capital of cabbalistic theology during the Middle Ages and has a Jewish feel that is arguably unrivalled.
The writer names the Jewish quarter as the heart of the old town and one of the must-visit spots in Girona.
"From the River Onyar, it writhes up the hill in a labyrinth of alleys and long memories, recalling in stone the tumult of medieval life," Mr Peregrine states.
Holidays on the Costa Blanca could be particularly popular at this time of year, especially among those who take the advice of Skyscanner, which recommended the area as one of the bargain destinations for this week.
