Explore ancient Egypt on a Costa Blanca villa holiday
People planning to do more than simply relax on the beach during a Costa Blanca villa holiday this summer might be interested in paying a visit to Alicante to see a special exhibition.
A display entitled The Enigma of the Mummy explores some of the myths and mysteries associated with ancient Egypt.
It was launched at the Archaeological Museum in Alicante on March 1st and will remain open for Costa Blanca villa guests and other visitors to see until October 31st.
The exhibition brings together around 260 ancient Egyptian artefacts, which have been borrowed from museums all over the world.
At the heart of the show are the mummified figures of the priests Seramon and Ankpakhered.
Visitors will be able to see a number of archaeological finds and relics that have been combined with modern technology to tell the story of these characters and offer an insight into what life may have been like more than 2,000 years ago.
Alicante boasts many other attractions for travellers to visit during a Costa Blanca villa holiday, such as the historic castles of San Fernando and Santa Barbara.
