Explore Murcia on a Costa Blanca villa holiday
The Spanish tourist board has encouraged people planning Costa Blanca holidays this year to take the opportunity to explore the Murcia region.
Located in south-east Spain, Murcia boasts a scenic Mediterranean coastline and has borders with Castile-La Mancha to the north and Andalusia to the west.
People planning to do some relaxing by the sea during a Costa Blanca villa holiday this year will find plenty of sandy beaches in this part of the country.
According to the national tourist board, the Mar Menor lagoon is "the most beautiful natural wonder on the coast", with waters that are around five degrees warmer than the Mediterranean Sea.
Adventurous visitors can take the opportunity to see some of the region's mountainous landscapes, with plenty of foothills to be explored in the Penibetica and Subbetica ranges.
Other natural features of this part of Spain include the Segura river, which flows into Murcia from Albacete.
Travellers planning to visit the Costa Blanca can book holiday villas in Javea, Moraira, Denia and other popular destinations.
