Enjoy Easter on a Costa Blanca villa holiday

Between April 9th and April 13th, Torrevieja will come alive with processions that colourfully illustrate the events that led up to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus and they are a vital part of the country's traditions.

"Music plays an important part of the processions and sets the mood of the tale being told. Everyone takes pride in playing in their band in the street parades," Torrevieja Information reports.

For those who also like rubbing shoulders with the marvellously moneyed then a villa in Villamartin could be the place to go this Easter, while its stunning golf course has also hosted the Spanish Open.

Villamartin is just a short drive away from Torrevieja and the area has been described as a paradise for golfers - so those on a villa holiday this April could play a few rounds in between the colourful parades and processions.
