People heading to Costa Blanca villas close to Alicante next year have the chance to take part in a pair of atmospheric Spanish festivals during their getaway.
The region is set to play host to both the Moors and Christians Festival and Saint John's Bonfires ceremony throughout the first half of 2012.
Holiday makers are particularly in for a treat if they manage to catch the Moors and Christians Festival in March, seeing as though the event brings a mixture of street carnivals, religious attractions and historical events to Alicante.
One of the highlights of the attraction is the re-enactment of the battles between the Moors and the Christians, though informal and comic retreats should also be sought out later in the day.
Brits waiting until June 2012 to visit villas in Costa Blanca have the chance to be entertained by Saint John's Bonfires.
A key part of the Fogueres de Sant Joan fiesta, the ceremony allows people to pay tribute to Saint John and sees a selection of firework and bonfire displays taking place throughout the Spanish region.
