Costa Blanca holidays 'should not be affected by strike'
British families eyeing the sun and fun to be found when staying in a villa on the Costa Blanca should not concern themselves with the threat of another air traffic control strike in Spain.
That is because the country's government has promised it has a secret contingency plan in place in case the professionals opt for a further round of industrial action, reports the Daily Telegraph.
A measure passed over the weekend by authorities raises the prospect of striking controllers being sacked and even prosecuted for their actions.
When it comes to avoiding problems over the Christmas period, the newspaper quotes deputy prime minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba as saying: "We have a plan B – the details of which I can't reveal."
As such, Britons could feel confident when booking a villa on the Costa Blanca for the party season.
The same publication recently told of the Las Rallas festival, which takes place just up the coast in Valencia, as one to watch out for when heading to Spain.
