Costa Blanca holidays make top ten

A new list of the most popular locations for a bargain breaks features Costa Blanca holidays in eighth place.

The Spanish hotspot emerged victorious as one of several Mediterranean destinations in the top ten, which was compiled by Cooperative Travel.

"Bookings from people looking for cheap summer sun have traditionally ensured that Spain was the leading holiday destination," commented Trevor Davis, head of retail distribution with the organisation.

The news follows the assertion by Paul Bradley, spokesperson for the Spanish Property Owners Guild, that mainland Spain is a particularly popular option for people looking to stay in the country for an extended period of time.

UK golf enthusiasts looking to book a Costa Blanca villa break may wish to consider La Marina, a yet-to-be popularised gem of a location just 20 minutes away from Alicante Airport by car.
