Costa Blanca holiday 'is affordable winter sun option'
People seeking to top up their tan over the coming months should consider a holiday on the Costa Blanca, if one expert's advice is anything to go by.
David Swann, currency strategist at Travelex, says sterling is more than six per cent up on the euro compared with this time last year, making a trip to Spain more affordable than it has been for some time.
"Popular eurozone destinations like Spain ... could provide holidaymakers wanting some half-term winter sun great value [for money]," he notes.
With the UK likely to be cold during November, December and January, relaxing on the Mediterranean coast during a stay at a Costa Blanca villa may be just what is required for many.
Mr Swann's comments come after research by the International Currency Exchange found Britons are enjoying good value for money on their travels at the moment, especially in the US where sterling has recently hit an eight-month high against the dollar.
