Brits 'in for a pleasant surprise' on Costa Blanca holidays

Britons planning a Costa Blanca villa holiday this year could be in for a "pleasant surprise" when they discover how affordable Spain has become, according to recent research.

First Rate Exchange Services carried out a survey which found that nearly three-quarters (71 per cent) of UK adults who will be travelling abroad this year are planning to visit a eurozone destination.

Visitors are set to benefit from lower prices in several European countries, with Spain leading the way.

Recent research from the Post Office indicated that prices in Spain have fallen by as much as 30 per cent this year.

Gordon Gourlay, managing director of First Rate, said: "Lower tourist prices across the eurozone are extremely good news for the millions of UK holidaymakers who are set to make a return to traditional holiday destinations such as Spain and Portugal this year.

"UK foreign currency retailers can expect strong demand for the currency as savvy travellers stock up on euros in order to get best value from foreign exchange deals in the UK."

Holiday makers can arrange Costa Blanca villa accommodation to explore one of Spain's most famous and popular regions, with plenty of beaches and seafront towns to visit along the coast.
